Sadam | south

Sadam (সাদাম) is a rural hamlet in South Sikkim district of Indian state of Sikkim. Sadam village located around 5,500 ft. above sea level and about 18 kms away from district head quarter Namtse or Namchi (meaning Sky High). ‘Tarey Bhir’ is one of the most attractive points of attraction for people who adore natural thrill in Sadam.

          The word ‘Bhir’ means cliff in the local Nepali language, length is around 10,000 ft. with a breathtaking view at the edge from where you can get spectacular views of the river valleys bellow, the lush green forest coverage, panoramic view of the confluence of the two rivers of Sikkim Teesta and Rangeet. In Tarey Bhir there is a path made along the top of the ridge that makes it look like some kind of mini China Wall.

          The village also provides comprehensive view of the tea garden sprawled on a sloppy hill of Peshok.

Our homestay is situated in the beautiful place, blessed by nature. We provide cozy, comfortable rooms and mouth-watering organic dishes along with cultural programs, sightseeing, trekking, bird watching, paragliding and many more.

Currently two double bedded rooms and a four bedded room is available. All rooms are spacious with attached western bath. You can get spectacular view of nearby from window. Tariff starts from Rs.1,200/ with all foods (breakfast, lunch, evening snacks & dinner). 



How to Reach Sadam

Nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB) and nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP). Distance from Siliguri is about 75 kms, direct cars are available from airport, railway station and Siliguri, it will take around 3 hrs to reach from Siliguri.

You also can reach Tarey Bhir,  Sadam from Darjeeling, it will take around two and half hrs and distance is about 56 kms. from Darjeeling.
