Mankhim | east

Mankhim locally called as Mangkhim, (Dalapchand) is a hilltop hamlet and new travel destination near Aritar, East Sikkim. Actually, Mankhim means temple in in local language, in Mankhim there is a small temple (for local Rai Community) at hilltop. You can see great an almost 180 degree panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the 'boot-shaped' Lampokhri/Aritar Lake.
Take a small walk to the village monastery, also you can go to Aritar lake for a day visit or sightseeing from Mankhim, there is paddle boat to float over emerald colored green lake. Changey falls is another  sightseeing destination near Mankhim. No doubt, you can find a magnificent scenic beauty, multi colored orchids and daffodils, the chant of colorful bird from here.

How to Reach Mankhim

Nearest airport is Bagdogra and railway station is New Jailpaiguri (NJP), well connected by cars and taxis. Mankhim located about 125 kms. away from Siliguri, it will take around 5 hrs through Teesta bazar, Pedong, Rhenock and Aritar. You also can reach Mankhim from Gangtok and it will take around 3 hrs to reach and distance around 68 kms. through Ranipool - Rangpo -Pedong - Aritar.

Best Season to Visit Mankhim

Mankhim can be visited throughout the year but best time to visit Mankhim is April to September. Winter is also best time to see breathtaking view of snow-caped peak.
