How to Reach Dharamshala

Nearest airport is Kangra Airport (DHM) in Gaggal near Dharamshala, distance only 12 kms. Direct flights are available from Delhi & Chandigarh, operated by SpiceJet & Alliance Air.

          Nearest rail head is Pathankot Junction (PTK), which is located around 90 kms away from Dharamshala. Pathankot is well connected with rest of the major cities of India.

          Dharamshala is well connected to almost all the major cities of the region by road; Such as - Delhi, Chandigarh and Pathankot and there are also several buses that travel from Dharamshala to all these cities.

Best Season to Visit Dharamshala

Best time to visit the Dharamshala is summer, mid-April to June, as the temperature is quite pleasant in summer. The climate of Dharamshala is generally quite pleasant in summer, but the temperature gradually drops below freezing in winter. Tourists are advised to wear heavy woolen garments when visiting Dharamshala in winter.
