Murti | north bengal

Murti (মূর্তি) is a scenic tourist destination under Dooars region in north Bengal, which is situated on the banks of River Murti. The name of the spot derived from this beautiful Murti River, also the river is main attraction of this place. You can make a dip into the crystal clear water of the Murti River, fishing is very popular activity at Murti.

          Another attraction of this place is Gorumara National Park and Chapramari forest, which is located very nearby Murti. The national park is home of Rhinos, other wild animals and different bird species. You can cover entire Dooars trip from Murti or spend few night here to feel the nature. Other destinations like Jhalong-Bindu, Samsing-Suntaleykhola, Paren etc.

Murti is a destination which can be visited throughout the year, but mid-September to mid-march is best time to visit Murti river and surrounding.  In monsoon entire Dooars region get closed for tourist but Murti remains open for tourist.

Nearest railway station is New Mal Jn. (NMZ) or new Jalpaiguri (NJP), well connected with Kolkata and rest of India. Direct car and taxis are available from Siliguri, NJP, Malbazar and Bagdogra airport (IXB).
