Almora, a popular hill station in Uttarakhand, is said to be the cultural capital of Kumaon. The town Almora was built on a horse-shaped ridge at an altitude of 6050 feet. The city is surrounded by the Kaushik (Koshi) and Shalmali (Suyal) rivers. There is a spectacular view of the Himalayas, as well as a number of spots centered around Almora.

          The natural cave and the Shiva temple at Gananath are 36 km away. The prehistoric cave paintings are quite interesting in some of the countless caves at Lakhudia, 20 km away. The Jageshwar Temple Complex, 35 km away, is also very important. Here you will see 124 temples and innumerable idols. At an altitude of 1900 meters, the environment of Deodar and Fare shaded Jageshwar also captivates the mind.
