estate and village near Mirik and surrounded by lush green tea gardens. Mirik
which is a well-known and popular tourist destination in Darjeeling region, the
Soureni tea estate homestay located just 3 K.M before Mirik town and only 5 K.M
from Mirik Lake (also known as Sumendhu Lake). The name Soureni is derived from
two different words, ‘Sour’ – a rare tree having some medical value and ‘Rani’
means ‘Queen of the Valley’.
You can spend two-three days
holidays at Soureni with your family and loving one. The village cum tea estate
provides superb mountain views along with lush greenery to forget hectic daily
life. Tourist can go for full day sightseeing tour to Mirik Lake, which is
surrounded by oak, maple and chestnut trees (do boating, horse riding &
taste Momo’s at stall near lake), one can go for shopping/visit at Pashupati
Market in Indo-Nepal border. One day you can book for visiting nearby
fascinating tea gardens/estates, like Tingling Tea Estate, Gopaldhara Tea

How to Reach

Nearest railway
station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB) directly
connected with Soureni. Daily bus service is available from Siliguri to Mirik. You
can hire a car to Soureni from Siliguri/NJP/Bagdogra, it will take around 2.5
hrs. to 3 hrs to reach. Shared jeep also available from Siliguri to Mirik it
will cost around Rs.150/person. From Mirik ask your host to pick you up by exclusive
car.

be visited throughout the year, but best time to visit Soureni is March – June again
October – December.
