Munnar is the most popular travel destination & hill station in Kerala at an altitude of 1,800 meters. Munnar is located at least 130 km from Kochi (Cochin). When traveling to Kerala, keep at least two days to get around Munnar.

Munnar, situated at the confluence of the three rivers Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala and situated at an altitude of about 1600 m above sea level, was the summer base of the then British rulers of South India. Tea gardens over a wide area, all the colonial bungalows, small rivers, waterfalls and cool weather, all these are the features of this region. It is also a great place for trekking and mountain biking. Anamudi Peak is located in the Iravikulam National Park near Munnar. It is the highest mountain in South India with a height of just over 2700 meters. Prior permission from the Forest Department and Wildlife Authority of Eravikulam is required to climb the peak.
