Itanagar is well-planed capital city, hill station and
important trade center of Arunachal Pradesh, height of the city around 2,200
feet above sea level. The inhabitants of the city are mostly from nearby plains,
who are living here for work or business purpose. The main attraction Itanagar
city is the Jawaharlal Nehru Museum State Museum, a wonderful collection of every
major tribal of Arunachal Pradesh is presented through art models. It showcase of
their way of life and a rich section on archaeology. In another section museum
you can find collection of handicrafts such as cane, bamboo and wood made by local
tribal people.
There is
a beautiful Buddha temple or Gompa on Forested hillock, which is very close to
the State Museum. This holy place has special status among Buddhists, His
Holiness Dalai Lama planted a tree here.
